Location: Reverse osmosis units, distillation plants, or other water production processes for potable water must only operate while the vessel is MAKING WAY Progressing through the water by mechanical or wind power. (moving) and at sea, beyond polluted areas, harbors, or anchorage.
Technical Water: Completely separate plants/processes and piping systems may produce technical water (non-potable) in polluted areas or while not making way.
Prohibited Sources: Onboard sources like technical water, air conditioning condensate, or any wastewater (treated or untreated) are strictly prohibited for potable water production.
